The TP link switch is high quality. The switch is plug and play easy to use. POE ports provide power as advertised. Fan is quiet and unit stays nice and cool. It works well with other small TP link switches bridged in my home network. Connected devices respond quickly and stay connected. Very happy.

This is a returned reused item. Led POE in use light doesn’t work.

I only took a star off because my switch didnโt match the picture of what I ordered. Not a big deal but I donโt need dip switches to split the switch, etc. I have not read into the switch on if thereโs some manageable settings on vLANโs, I just needed the PoE for phones on a 5 desk office. No QoS, no vLANโsโฆ. I canโt give you a review on the little features this unmanaged switch has.
You can see only 7 desktop/phones plugged into it. The phones handle basic QoS. Someone update the picture ๐ค

I decided to buy these 4 port POE injectors instead of a single 16 port injector/switch because if there is a failure, then I will only lose 4 cameras and not 16. These do work well. They do get a bit warm, both the power supply and the switch, but its not any more than baby bottle warm. Although I ordered the same exact model number, some of the units had a “long distance” switch that basically made it possible to have ridiculously long cables. There are two POE standards, one is short distance, but supports 1GB speeds, and the other only supports 100 MB speed, but goes considerably farther. A typical POE camera only needs about 10GB speed, so the long range will work fine if you need it.
One thing that would make this even better is having a way to log into it and get the status of each port including the voltage, current, number of collisions and connection quality. Right now, there is no way to tell that until a camera gets so bad that it throws the overload LED.

This switch has been a game-changer for my network setup. With its handy features and solid build, it helped me effortlessly tackle my connectivity challenges.
One standout aspect of this switch is its four PoE+ ports, which provide power to compatible devices like IP cameras and wireless access points. The 65W power supply is more than sufficient, ensuring reliable and consistent performance. Plus, the plug-and-play functionality made the installation a breeze, saving me time and hassle.
The sturdy metal construction and shielded ports are worth mentioning, as they enhance durability and protect against electromagnetic interference. The fanless design keeps things quiet, which is a major plus for those seeking a noise-free environment.
In terms of performance, this switch excels. The QoS (Quality of Service) feature ensures smooth data flow, preventing bottlenecks and optimizing network efficiency. Additionally, the IGMP Snooping functionality has been invaluable in managing multicast traffic, allowing for seamless streaming and video conferencing.
While the switch has a lot going for it, there are a few aspects that could be improved. One limitation is the number of ports. With only five ports available, it may not be suitable for larger network setups requiring more connections. Additionally, some users have reported occasional issues with firmware updates, but I personally haven’t encountered any problems.
Overall, the TP-Link TL-SG1005P V2 is a reliable and efficient PoE switch that simplifies network management. Its robust design, easy setup, and useful features make it a solid choice for small to medium-sized networks. Just keep in mind the limited number of ports if you have extensive connectivity needs.

Works well when you need a small switch to plug in your access points.

I have four Ring POE cameras. Works perfectly. A definite improvement over using four injectors.. I was surprised to see rather than a plug in transformer, it comes with a power brick and a 110v power cord to the brick. Could be a plus or minus depending you your setup. Works great. Great price.

As an expert in networking solutions, I was excited to test the TP-Link TL-SG1005P, and it proved to be an excellent addition to any network setup. This 5 Port Gigabit PoE Switch provides outstanding power-over-Ethernet capabilities with its 4 PoE+ ports, delivering up to 65W of power.
Its plug-and-play design and sturdy metal construction make installation a breeze, and the fanless operation ensures silent and reliable performance. The switch’s shielded ports enhance durability and signal integrity, ensuring a stable network connection.
TP-Link’s commitment to quality is evident with their limited lifetime protection, and features like Quality of Service (QoS) and IGMP snooping further enhance network management and efficiency. Whether you’re an expert in networking or looking to upgrade your home or office network, the TP-Link TL-SG1005P is a solid choice that delivers power, performance, and peace of mind.
