I have spent a lot of time researching surge protection products for my company. I needed some CAT 5 surge protectors for the house. I looked at all the options online and purchased a few. I disassembled all of them. These units have by far the best protection, and they weren’t even the most expensive.
Most surge protection products are a total sham. Save your money and equipment, get these. Another great and high value product from Ubiquiti!

I knew what I was buying, and this is great out of the box if you plan to ground it by screwing into a pole mount. If you plan to use a drain wire, you’ll need M5 nuts and bolts and the drain wire.

Two were purchased to protect their 900mhz microwave system and are installed outdoors. They don’t seem to slow anything down and ubiquti makes quality components. If lightning strikes and protects the system I’ll raise the rating a star, if damage ensues I will deduct a few. I have never tried to collect on a lightning strike. It’s probably impossible. The best way to sleep is pay a professional a few grand to clamp down the whole house and everything in it. There is hardware to do that but it ain’t cheap. We turn everything off and unplug it when Thor gets grumpy. Best insurance of all…..

When I told the Vice President of my division, “I’d like $4,000 to buy AirFiber Radios, so our internet speed will go from 15 to well over 100 Mbps,” I was only mildly surprised when she said, “yeah, here ya go! Do it!” (We’re waaaaaaay out in the country).
I didn’t ask her permission to buy 8 of these. I figured for a $1,000 each investmen on the radios, I would just go ahead and do it.
I love Ubiquiti products: easy to install, easy to configure (if you have a bit of networking or wireless knowledge), and very reliable.
If you’re capable of installing the radios these surge protection devices are intended to be paired with, you should be able to install these.
The only semi-difficult part is creating proper grounding wires to attach; these are not included.
It’s simple otherwise; just screw it in, or hose clamp it to a pole, and you’re good.
Do yourself a favor though: drill it in, so you have an excuse to buy a nice drill set.
Side note: I have not yet had a disaster event to determine their efficacy, nor have I performed any test scenarios.

I have an underground Cat6 line that was hit by lightening recently and my switch was fried because of this. So I got this and was pleased with how easy it was to install. It also looks nice, even though mine is hidden out of sight. If my line gets struck again and this works, I’ll update the review.

Todo excelente la verdad si ayudan mucho para proteger las antenas de rayos solo que si acnsejo que saques bien la tierra y no solo la dejes en el tubo o torre donde lo colocaste

Small-compact well built
* Very well built and will be able to take a beating from the weather
* Seals tightly and looks like it will stand the times of the elements
* Comes with instructions and grounding screw with washer
***Note*** I had to make the cable holes on the bottom a little bigger for the 10gauge grounding wire that I used.
