One of the 2 ports died within a month. I did not need both ports, but purchased this for the added line protection it provided, after my mother board took a hit and lost its built-in network. Now on the shelf and replaced by an Intel board.

This is the 2nd one I own and it’s a really solid fast card I use on my 2010 Dell, much better than the original set up that came with the computer after it started to fail. Really easy to put in, worth the money.

PoE worked well but when running 2 GigE cameras I ended up with a fair amount of resends. Card looks good quality. Also a little on the long side. overall good card just did not seem to match my needs as well as I hoped for.

I put this in my firewall to directly power my access point. So far this has been going for 2+ years and my access point only hiccups when the internet goes out. IPERF shows no surprise in throughput tests, giving full gigabit in testing. This card is based on a Realtek chip, which has good multi-platform support.
Make sure the case you use is well ventilated as this card does get a little warm.
Update (12/30/23): This card is still working as expected. Sophos UTM and pfSense both support this card without issues.

StarTech always has quality product. However, having trouble bridging these ports while using local DHCP server.

This does great if you need to add one or two PoE AP’s or cameras to a server or such. I definitely recommend this if you need some PoE NIC’s.
